Well, we did go home for about 2 days. We were released from Riverside Wednesday morning even though Claire was a little Jaundice. The doctors were not overly worried about it at the time. We had an appointment with our Pediatrician on Friday. She said the same thing but to make sure and watch her, and if she gets worse take her in for treatment. Saturday morning we noticed that Claire was a little more sleepy and that she really didnt want to wake up or eat very much (both of which are signs of Jauncie). We took her to Riverside Emergency room, they noticed her temp was low (96) and that she might be a little dehydrated. Well, one thing led to aother, which led to an IV, which led to a spinal tap (the ER doctors weren't able to get any fluid) , which led us to CHKD, which led us to another Spinal tap, that landed her admitted to CHKD, which is where we have been since Saturday night! The doctors where concerned about an infection, namely Menengities. They have done cultures, and are filling Claire with Antibiotics, and we are waiting for the results from the tests which take 48 hours. We saw the head doctor this morning and he said that as of then, there had been no signs of infection but we wouldn't be sure till tonight. Claire is doing better. She is eating more and when she is awake she is more alert. Her color has gone away (meaning she no longer has an orange tan and is white again) which is what she chould be because she has a couple of pale parents. We are hoping to go home tomorrow morning, so just keep praying for us. Thanks to all that have spread the word. It has helped immensely just knowing the love and support we have. I will try to update tomorrow to let everyone know what is going on! G- PS- this is the short story of our adventure. If you want to know all the details, give me a call...we'll talk, no big whoop. |
